Tongan tenor Filipe Manu is currently on the prestigious Jette Parker Young Artist Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden where in the 2018/19 season made his company debut as Hippolyt in Phaedra whilst in his final year on the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Opera programme. 

In the following season he began by covering Tamino in David McVicar's production of Die Zauberflöte and marked his MainStage debut there as Gastone de Letorières La traviata in Richard Eyre’s production, going onto to perform Erster Gefangener in Fidelio conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano. He was to conclude the 2019/20 season by performing Junger Seemann in Tristan und Isolde and Prologue/Peter Quint in Turn of the Screw.
